To configure the Key Takeaways box, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Blocks tab.
These settings control the Key Takeaways block that gives readers a quick summary at the top of your articles. They apply whenever Key Takeaways is enabled as one of your content blocks in your Writing Preferences.

Heading Text
The heading displayed above the takeaways list. This defaults to “Key Takeaways” but you can customize it to match your site’s tone - for example, “30 Second Summary,” “What You’ll Learn,” “The Short Version,” or “TL;DR.” Whatever you enter here is used consistently across all posts that include a takeaways block.
Insertion Location
Controls where the takeaways block appears within the article. Two options are available:
Top of Post (Before Intro) - Places the block at the very top, before any introductory text. Readers see the summary first, then decide whether to continue reading the full article. This works well for informational and how-to content where readers want the answer quickly.
After Intro (Before First Section) - Places the block after your introduction paragraph but before the first H2 section. This lets your intro set the stage and hook the reader before presenting the summary. It feels more natural editorially and works well for longer, narrative-driven posts.
Max Takeaways
Sets the maximum number of bullet points in the takeaways block, between 2 and 8. Fewer takeaways keep the block tight and scannable, while more can cover a broader range of points for comprehensive articles. The AI will use fewer than the maximum when the content doesn’t warrant the full count.
Max Words Per Takeaway
Sets the maximum word count for each individual bullet point, between 10 and 50 words. Shorter takeaways (10–20 words) create a punchy, at-a-glance summary. Longer takeaways (30–50 words) allow for more context and nuance per point. The best choice depends on how much detail your readers expect from a summary block.
Saving
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround creates. Takeaway blocks in existing posts are not retroactively modified.
