To configure link stripping, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Links tab.
Link stripping is a real-time content filter that removes unwanted links from your posts as they’re served to visitors. Unlike other link settings that apply only at content creation time, this runs on every page render - meaning it catches links regardless of when or how they were added.
When a link’s URL matches one of your blacklisted keywords, HighGround removes the <a> tag but keeps the visible anchor text intact. Your readers see the same words; they just aren’t clickable. This means no broken sentences, no missing text, and no visible change to your content - the links simply disappear.

Blacklisted URL Keywords
A free-text field where you list keywords one per line. If any keyword appears anywhere in a link’s href attribute, that link is stripped. For example, adding affiliateprogram would strip any link containing that string in its URL, such as https://example.com/affiliateprogram/signup. Keywords are matched broadly - you don’t need to enter full URLs, just the distinguishing portion.
This is useful for cleaning up links you don’t want on your site, such as outdated affiliate links, links injected by third-party plugins, or URLs pointing to domains that have since gone stale or changed ownership. Because it runs at render time, it acts as a safety net that catches links across your entire site without needing to edit each post individually.
Saving
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. Changes take effect immediately on all pages since the filter runs at render time.
