FAQs Block

To configure FAQ generation, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Blocks tab.

These settings control how FAQs are generated and inserted into your articles. They apply whenever FAQs is enabled as one of your content blocks in your Writing Preferences.

Number of FAQs

Sets how many FAQ questions the AI generates per article, ranging from 3 to 10. The AI pulls questions from the article’s topic that real users are likely to search for. Fewer FAQs keeps things concise, while more can capture a wider range of long-tail queries. For most articles, 4–6 is a solid sweet spot.

Words Per Answer

Sets the maximum word count for each individual FAQ answer, ranging from 50 to 200 words. Shorter answers (50–75 words) work well for simple, direct questions and tend to perform better for featured snippet eligibility. Longer answers (150–200 words) allow for more thorough explanations on complex topics. Keep in mind this is a ceiling - the AI will write shorter answers when the question doesn’t warrant the full limit.

Auto Schema

When set to Yes, HighGround automatically attaches FAQPage JSON-LD structured data to the page. This markup tells search engines your page contains FAQ content, making it eligible for rich results - the expandable question-and-answer dropdowns that can appear directly in Google search results. When set to No, the FAQs appear visually on the page but without the accompanying schema.

Insertion Location

Controls where the FAQ block is placed in the finished article. Three options are available:

Auto – After References - Places the FAQ block below your references section at the bottom of the article.

Auto – Before References - Places the FAQ block above the references section, keeping it within the main content flow.

Manual (Gutenberg Block) - Does not auto-insert the FAQ block. Instead, a dedicated HighGround FAQ Gutenberg block is made available for you to place anywhere you want within the editor. Use this when you need full control over positioning.

FAQ Custom Rules

An optional free-text field where you can provide specific instructions for how the AI generates your FAQs. For example, you might write “Always lead answers with a direct Yes or No when applicable,” “Keep language at an 8th-grade reading level,” or “Avoid using the word ‘utilize.'” This gives you fine-grained control over the tone, structure, and style of your FAQ content. A Restore to default option is available to reset the field.

Saving

Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround creates. FAQs in existing posts are not retroactively modified.
