To configure automatic comment replies, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Comments tab.
HighGround can automatically generate and post replies to new comments using AI, keeping your comment sections active and your readers engaged without manual effort.

Auto Reply to Comments
When Enabled, the AI automatically writes and posts a reply to each new comment. When Disabled, no automatic replies are generated - you handle responses manually as usual.
Reply as User
Controls which WordPress user the AI reply is attributed to. Three options are available:
Post Author - The reply is posted under the name of whoever authored the article. This is the most natural choice for most sites, as it looks like the writer is personally responding to their readers.
Custom User - The reply is posted under a specific WordPress user you select. This is useful if you want all AI replies attributed to a single account - for example, a branded account like “Editorial Team” or a dedicated community manager profile.
Auto Reply to Comments Prompt
A free-text field where you instruct the AI on how it should respond to comments. This is where you define the tone, length, and approach. For example, you might write “Keep replies friendly and brief. Thank the commenter by name if possible. If they ask a question, answer it directly. Never be defensive about the article’s content.” Tailoring this prompt ensures the AI’s replies match your brand voice and feel authentic.
A Restore to default option is available to reset the field to HighGround’s built-in reply prompt.
Saving
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next incoming comment. Existing comments do not retroactively receive replies.
