Auto Internal Links

To configure internal linking, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Links tab.

HighGround automatically inserts internal links into your content to strengthen your site’s internal link structure, improve crawlability, and distribute page authority across your posts. These settings control how aggressively and where those links are placed.

Content Type

Toggle between Posts and Pages to set which content type these linking defaults apply to.

Max Internal Links Per Section

Sets the maximum number of internal links the AI can insert within a single section (H2 block) of your article. Keeping this number reasonable prevents sections from feeling over-linked and spammy. A good starting point is 1–3 per section depending on your typical section length - shorter sections need fewer links to maintain readability.

Max Insertions Per URL

Limits how many times the same URL can be linked across the entire article. This prevents a single page from being linked repeatedly throughout the post, which looks unnatural to both readers and search engines. Setting this to 1 ensures each internal link target only appears once per article.

Blacklisted URLs / Domains

A free-text field where you can list URLs or domains that HighGround should never link to, one per line. Use this to exclude pages like your privacy policy, terms of service, login page, or any other URLs you don’t want receiving internal links. You can enter full URLs for specific pages or entire domains to block all links to that destination.

Saving

Click Save Link Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround creates. Internal links in existing posts are not retroactively modified.
