To configure external linking, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Links tab.
When enabled, HighGround searches Google for relevant, authoritative external sources and automatically inserts outbound links into your content. External links to high-quality sources signal topical relevance to search engines and add credibility to your posts for readers.

Content Type
Toggle between Posts and Pages to set which content type these linking defaults apply to.
External Links
When Enabled, the AI actively researches and inserts relevant external links as it generates content. When Disabled, no outbound links are added - your posts will only contain internal links (if configured) and any links you add manually.
Max Per Section
Sets the maximum number of external links the AI can insert within a single section of your article. Too many outbound links in one section can distract readers and dilute the section’s focus. One or two per section is typically sufficient to support claims and reference sources without overdoing it.
Max Per URL
Limits how many times the same external URL can be linked across the entire article. This prevents the same source from being referenced repeatedly, which keeps your outbound link profile diverse and avoids the appearance of promoting a single external site.
Blacklisted Domains
A free-text field where you can list domains that HighGround should never link to, one per line. Use this to block competitor sites, low-quality sources, or any domains you don’t want associated with your content.
Blacklisted Domain Extensions
A free-text field where you can list top-level domain extensions to block, one per line (for example, .ru or .cn). Any external source matching one of these extensions will be excluded entirely. This is a broad filter useful for blocking regions or domain types you consider untrustworthy or irrelevant to your audience.
Saving
Click Save Link Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround creates. External links in existing posts are not retroactively modified.
