To configure AI comment moderation, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Comments tab.
HighGround can automatically review incoming comments and mark them as approved or spam using AI, saving you from manually sorting through your moderation queue.
Auto Comment Moderation
When Enabled, every new comment is evaluated by the AI before it enters your moderation queue. Comments the AI considers legitimate are automatically approved, and comments it identifies as spam are marked accordingly. When Disabled, comments go through WordPress’s default moderation flow as usual.
Auto Comment Moderation Prompt
A free-text field where you provide the AI with your moderation criteria. This is where you define what counts as a legitimate comment and what should be flagged as spam. For example, you might write “Approve comments that are relevant to the article and ask a genuine question. Mark as spam anything that includes promotional links, generic praise with no specifics, or is clearly auto-generated.” The more specific your instructions, the more accurately the AI will reflect your moderation standards.
A Restore to default option is available to reset the field to HighGround’s built-in moderation prompt if you want to start over.
Saving
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next incoming comment. Existing comments already in your moderation queue are not retroactively processed.
