To configure automatic categorization, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the SEO tab.
HighGround can automatically assign categories to new posts using AI. Instead of manually sorting each article, the AI analyzes your post’s content and matches it to the most relevant category from your existing WordPress categories.

Auto Categorize
When Enabled, HighGround automatically assigns a category to every new post it creates. The AI evaluates the post’s title, content, and topic against your existing WordPress categories and selects the best fit. When Disabled, new posts are assigned to your WordPress default category as usual.
Multiple Categories
Controls whether the AI can assign more than one category per post. Only pick one category restricts the AI to a single best-fit selection, keeping your taxonomy clean and avoiding overlap. Allow multiple categories lets the AI assign two or more categories when a post legitimately spans multiple topics - for example, an article about “SEO Tips for E-Commerce” might be assigned to both a “SEO” and an “E-Commerce” category.
Category Instructions
An optional free-text field where you can guide how the AI makes its categorization decisions. This is helpful when category names alone don’t tell the full story. For example, you might write “Use ‘Guides’ for anything tutorial-based, even if it also fits a topic category” or “Never assign posts to the ‘Uncategorized’ category.” If left blank, the AI relies on its own judgment based on content relevance and category names.
Saving
Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround creates. Existing post categories are not retroactively changed.
