Auto Configure SEO Plugin

To configure SEO automation, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the SEO tab.

HighGround is compatible with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and All In One SEO and can optionally configure your SEO settings for new posts and pages as they’re generated.

The plugin automatically detects which SEO plugin you’re running and integrates with it directly - no manual setup required. The settings on this page will reflect whichever plugin is active. The example below uses Rank Math, but the experience is similar across all three.

Detection

When you open this tab, HighGround scans your WordPress installation and identifies your active SEO plugin. You’ll see a confirmation message at the top - for example, “Rank Math detected.” No manual configuration is needed for the connection itself; HighGround reads and writes to your SEO plugin’s fields natively.

Auto SEO Title

When Enabled, the AI generates an optimized SEO title for each post and saves it directly to your SEO plugin’s title field. Below this toggle you’ll find a Title Template field that controls the format. Available variables include %title% (the post title), %sep% (your separator character), and %sitename% (your site name). This defaults to your SEO plugin’s existing title format. Customizing it here will override that default for all AI-generated posts while leaving your SEO plugin’s global setting untouched.

Auto Meta Description

When Enabled, the AI generates a search-optimized meta description based on the article’s content. Descriptions are written to maximize click-through rate and keyword relevance while staying within recommended character limits. The description is saved directly to your SEO plugin’s meta description field.

Auto Open Graph Tags (Social)

When Enabled, the AI generates a social-optimized title and description for your Open Graph tags - these control how your post appears when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms. The post’s featured image is also automatically set as the OG image.

Tip: If you’re using Rank Math, keep the “Use Data from Facebook Tab” option enabled in Rank Math’s Twitter/X settings. This tells Rank Math to reuse your OG title and description for Twitter/X cards automatically, so you get consistent social previews across all platforms without extra configuration.

Auto Focus Keyword

When Enabled, the AI analyzes your post title and content, then selects a single target keyword (typically 2–4 words) that your post should rank for. This keyword is saved as the focus keyword in your SEO plugin, which in turn drives its on-page SEO analysis and scoring. Having a focus keyword set automatically means your SEO plugin’s content analysis starts working immediately - no manual keyword research step required for each post.

Saving

Click Save Settings to apply your changes. These settings take effect on the next post HighGround generates or updates. Existing posts are not retroactively modified.
