Auto-Update Posts

To configure automatic updates, go to HighGround → Settings, then click the Schedule tab.

This feature lets HighGround automatically revisit and refresh older posts that haven’t been touched in a while. It reviews each section for outdated information, stale references, and opportunities to improve the content, then rewrites as needed.

Auto-Update Old Posts

When set to Disabled, no automatic updates occur - posts stay as-is until you manually update them. When set to Enabled, HighGround will automatically find and update one old post per day. Only posts that meet the age threshold below are eligible. Updates are spaced to one per day to keep changes manageable and easy to review.

Post Age Threshold

Determines how long a post must sit unmodified before it becomes eligible for automatic updates. Options range from 1 month to 5 years. Shorter thresholds like 1 month and 3 months are marked with a (Caution) label - these are aggressive intervals that may trigger unnecessary rewrites on content that’s still perfectly current. For most sites, 6 months or 1 year strikes a good balance between keeping content fresh and avoiding churn.

Default Update Instructions

An optional free-text field that gets included with every automatic update. Use this to guide how HighGround approaches rewrites - for example, “Preserve the original tone,” “Don’t remove existing internal links,” or “Focus on updating statistics and dates.” A Restore to default option is available to reset the field. If you leave this blank, HighGround will use its own judgment when reviewing and rewriting sections.

When manually updating a specific post, you can provide per-post instructions that override or supplement these defaults.

Manual Updates

You don’t have to rely on the automatic schedule. To manually trigger an update on any post, go to All Posts, hover over the post you want to refresh, and click Update With HighGround. This lets you provide custom instructions specific to that post and kick off an update immediately.
